Who Was That Cat
Who Was That Cat is a high energy four-piece rock'n'roll and rockabilly based in the outer south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne. We play a variety of music from the glory days of the 50's & 60's.
The band has a Floorshow dedicated as a tribute to
BILL HALEY
& HIS COMETS
and play the hits of many other greats of the Rock'N'Roll & Rockabilly world like Carl Perkins, Duane Eddie, Go Cat Go, Eddie Cochran, Elvis Presley just to name a few!
The presentation below was recorded "live" at one of our gigs
John plays a variety of styles both lead, slide and rhythm guitar & lends a wealth of "RNR" knowledge to our line up. His abilities on guitar are
definitely traditional and he is able to create all the colour in the musical landscape that is Rock'n'Roll/Rockabilly. He has a wonderful vocal ability and is able to cover all the RnR styles.
Frank Burns..........
Sit Down drums & Standup/Rockabilly
Frank has played in a few of the really great "RnR" bands in Melbourne including the original Fendermen. Musically he has played it all, and does so with a talent not to be missed...... He is, with a doubt, the engine room for this dynamic four piece outfit.
Wayne Feldman........
Slap Bass/Electric Bass
Wayne has played a variety of styles from "Funk to Punk", and began playing RnR around four years ago. Playing Rockabilly Slap Bass as well as Electric Bass, his high energy stage antics are well worth checking out. In leading the group, Wayne gives John a hand on lead vocals too. Wayne completes the rhythm section with Frankie for a very solid combo indeed.......................
Joey has been a stalwart of the RnR scene in Melbourne and plays a mean Sax indeed! His playing brings a warmth and genuine 50's feel to all the music he plays, and is a joy to listen to. His sax solos how wowed listeners all over Melbourne.....................
