Who Was That Cat
WHAT'S NEWS!
FRI 6TH AUGUST 2010:
As you can see we've not had a whole lot of news of late, Joe has been on a well earned break to Europe & we had some time off.
The good news is we are back in to it next Sat night @ Mornington R.S.L.
We are also looking forward to our trips to Yarrawonga in October & Adelaide in November.
In Adelaide we are looking forward to playing our "BILL HALEY " show, John & his backing band have been hard at rehearsals putting together what we hope will be a great show on the night!
On the gig front, the band is getting "Busy' toward the latter part of the year with some great news.
For the first time (for W.W.T.CAT) we will be playing at the DANDY WORKERS CLUB. (see gig guide for details) & The Dingley INTERNATIONAL.
Looking forward to seeing & playing for a lot of you who have been asking "when are we going to see you guy's at the Workers Club".
Well I'm pleased to tell you very, very sooon.
TUES 9TH MARCH 2010:
Hi all, it's been awhile since our last entry.
It is with regret that we inform you that our lead singer "Dave Ray", has for family comittments decided to give the RnR game away. We would like to thank Dave for his efforts in helping the band get "UP & RUNNING". He will allways be one the founding members of W.W.T.CAT and Frank Joe & Wayne wish Both him, his wife Suzzie & daugther Grace all the best for the future. Who knows we may see him again one day if we need someone to fill in as they say.
That brings us to some good news!
We have found a relplacement for Dave, his name is "John Beshara". John has filled in with us a couple of times and is a fantastic fit for our line up. He comes to us with a wealth of RnR experience having played in many RNR bands before.
His is a very, very good guitar player and a mighty fine singer as well and a great character.
We have just finished our first gig with John @ Geelong Juke box Rockers, to RAVE REVIEWS.
We are looking forward to our new "BILL HALEY " treading the boards with us for some time.
THUS 10th DECEMBER 2009:
Well it's that time of year again, Xmas is upon us and we would like to say thanks once again for all the support we have received from the RnR community.
It has been a wonderful year for us with some very memorable highlights.
We had the opportunity to meet & support the great MERV BENTON& back the fine singing voices of GEOFF KENNEDY & LESLEY MARTIN.
We even got a chance to trot out our
BILL HALEY tribute for the very first time.
We helped raise some much need money for a very special little girl called MADISONBARTLETT & all the bushfire victims as well.
Another highlight for us was our night spent with
LINGER LONGER ROCKERS in Yarrawonga, we had the chance to play for their very first dance, and what a dance it was.
They are a great bunch of people who just love their music andof course their dancing, they made us feel very welcome & we can't wait to go back & play for them again
To top it all off we finished the year playing for Tassie Rockers at their Xmas dance, and backing our drummerFRANK'S younger brother
RONNIE BURNS.
Ronnie, like Frank is a great bloke with a heart of gold; it was a blast to back him and a treat to play along side Frank as he played along side his younger brother.
All in all we have met some wonderful people through the year, to everyone who has booked us, supported us, danced to the band or just sat & listened to the music we thank you & wish you all a very merry Xmas & a safe & happy NEW YEAR &
KEEPONROCKIN
FRANK, JOE, DAVE & WAYNE
Wednesday 2nd September 2009:
Over the last couple of months, we've heard many a person ask 'Have you got a CD ... we love your sound?' or 'Why don't you have a CD out yet ... come on!'. Well, we've heard you ... we are preparing to jump into Dave's 'studio' to record some tunes (before summer comes and just gets too hot to rehearse let alone record in his attic!). Please be patient ... it is coming.
Sunday 16th August 2009:
We had a fantastic night backing the legendary Merv Benton with the Tamlas at the Whitehorse Club with the unveiling of the Bill Haley & His Comets tribute set with jackets and the works. We also very much enjoyed being the backing band for Geoff Kennedy, the 'King of Kings' with his Elvis tribute, and Leslie Martin. Thanks very much to all who supported us in making this a reality and a special mention to Glenda for making our fabulous jackets - you are very dear to us.
We also played at Mitcham RSL today for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed our close encounter with the Rockers in the eastern suburbs. C'mon and rock!
Sunday 19th July 2009:
On behalf of Frank, Joe Dave & Wayne, we would like to thank all who came to our fundraiser on Saturday night @ Kensington. From door admittance, raffle prizes and
Richard'sbrilliant idea to have people throw gold coins at a bottle of scotch, we managed to raise a total of $1633.00.
We would also like to acknowledge the following people for their efforts:
Glenda, Richard, Teresa, Helen, Abbie & Julie
for making the night run so smoothly and also the kind people who at the last minute donated some extra prizes to be raffled - they were greatly appreciated. And most of all, we would like to thank all those who attended and parted with their hard-earned money for such a worthy cause - you are the ones who made the night the success that is was.
Tuesday 7th July 2009:
Our gig with the legendary "Merv Benton" is fast approaching and we are looking forward to, not only meet him, but play on the same night ourselves. Not only do we get to back a couple of wonderful artists on the night, we also get to "strut" our stuff with our very own tribute to "BILL HALEY" & his comets.
Hope you can all make it along it will be one great show indeed!

We are looking forward to some country gigs coming up later this year. Come along and join the fun - check out our Weekend Trips Away page for further details.

Dave, Frank, & Wayne would like thank all who attended the Peninsula Lounge on Friday. It was a great night with a good turn out, we were pleased to see a lot of familiar faces. The night was such a success that we have been rebooked for the 25th July.
Our thanks go out to many people who have worked hard to make what we have achieved so far a success, but there are a few who need a special mention.
We would like to thank:
Richard & Glenda: for their efforts above and beyond the call, and those shirts (what more can I say).
All the people who sent us emails of encouragement.
Linda & Charles: who have recomended us to so many people.
Yvonne & Greg: for all their help.
and all who have attended our gigs so far.
Last but by no means least, we would like to thank all those who gave up their time to come and listen to the endless rehearsals. It was a lot of fun, if sometimes a bit long but your input was very valuable and it meant a lot.
